The transfer feature by clicking the available link should be a one time only transfer. Another option however is to click the budget name to update it and then choose Override Amount. This will allow you to adjust your budget amount amount for any number of months. You can simulate a transfer by updating both categories if you like. You can also create one time budget categories as another option.

actually, come to think of it, any category that I transfer money from I would only want it to be a one time transfer, so I basically just need to know how to make it that way.

sweet, I never would have guessed =) the only problem is that one of the categories that I wanted to transfer money from is a random expense category - I am not sure how I should change the way it's set up because it ended up transferring the same amount every month since the beginning of the year and I now show a negative balance in that category. I want it to carry over whatever is in it every month, so I have that marked, but it only gets money to it a couple of times a year and it's not set times, so I'm not sure if I should mark it differently somehow or what.

To transfer budget amount, go to the My Budget page and you'll see that the Total Available amount is a link. Clicking this will take you to the transfer budget amount page. We have some updates we'll be releasing next month that will make it a bit more noticeable.

transfer between categories?
I am betting there's a way to do this, but I don't see how? I want to transfer money between categories - like we spent too much in one category one month and want to make up for it from our miscellaneous category. I could just call the transaction miscellaneous I suppose, but it would be a lot nicer if I could make the transfer and be able to see that I did it - that way I can still see an accurate report of how much was spent in the different actual categories.
