Re:Income on Budget
Because you could potentially have multiple income items tied to one budget, we keep these separate. To create a tie between an existing Income Item and non-existing Budget item, create a new budget sub-category with the same name as your Income Item as a deposit type. Then click on the "My Income" tab and update the Income Item you want tied. In the category drop-down, select the Budget item you just added and click save. You then should see the Income icon show up on your Budget.
If you create a Budget category first, you have the option to also create an Income Item by clicking the check box "add to Income" which will automatically tie these together. Were are currently looking into conveying the message to users that it's easier getting started if your budget categories are entered first. Please feel free to comment on any suggestions.

We've got income recorded, but never see it added to our budget. How do we do that?
