Thank you for the feedback. The side New Transaction does this behavior but not the new transaction page. We've added this to our todo list for our September release.

When downloading transactions from the bank, the list presented for approval will normally have the category associated with that payee, if there is one. Where a new payee exists, you'll need to specify, which is fine.
If transactions are being manually entered, regardless of the particular method, this doesn't seem to be the case - a category has to be specified, even when one already has been in the payee tab. Is it possible to get the category to default to that already specified? It would be necessary to be able to change it - for example, for me, Kroger can either be "Groceries" or "Gas". Seems like that might speed up the transaction entry process.
