Got it on the settings.
However on the duplicate subcategory, let me explain what I am seeing.
1. Start a new transaction. 2. Go to Categories. "Add New Category" 3. In the list of main categories, choose a main category. 4. In the textbox, enter the name of the NewSubCategory, where that is the *same* name as an existing subcategory under another main category. 5. Complete the required fields and save the transaction. 6. Look at the transaction list, you will see that the transaction is not saved with NewSubCategory, but rather it picked the first instance of that subcategory that was already in the category list under the other main category.
I hope that makes some sense?!?! LOL

This feature has been moved to a setting you need to turn on. To activate, go to "settings" and show Category Search.

Thank you, please try it now as it should show you the category:subcategory now to be able to distinguish between duplicates.

Along those lines, were you aware that you cannot have a subcategory by the same name saw "Legal" even if that subcategory is across 2 different main categories?

This is now available as a search box under the category dropdown when creating a new transaction. When you start typing the category name, you'll see a list of autocomplete categories to choose from which will then preselect the category dropdown for you. We'll look into adding this option when editing a transaction as well.

Thank you for the feedback. We'll add this as another settings option when you go to settings > Transaction Categories and will let you know once this has been launched which we are expecting around the end of january.

Fast search for transaction categories
Hello again,
Is there a way to accelerate finding a category for a transaction by quickly typing it? For example as I tab through the fields for a new transaction, when I get to the categories, I need to use the mouse. I like staying on keyboard as it is faster. Assuming I know what my category is, it would be nice to start typing "dinin..." for "Food: Dining Out"
