The purpose of is to provide an online tracking mechanism for users to keep track of all their finances, organizational tasks, and business needs. Through the site, users have the ability to view their finances from any internet connection via Personal Computer or Mobile Phone.

In order to use this Web site, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on the registration form and require you to enter your email and a password. During registration you are required to give contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information to contact you about the services on our site in which you have expressed interest. The email you choose when registering is the main point of validation when any updates are needed on the account such as forgetting your password or inquiring about information related to the account. If your email is no longer valid, we will use the security question and answer you filled out on the registration form to verify your identity before any information is given out about your account. BudgetTracker, Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected on budgettracker.com. BudgetTracker, Inc. collects personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our Web site.

We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.
Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account by going to the Settings page.

Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email, in accordance with your wishes.

If you no longer wish to receive communications from us, you may opt-out by following the instructions included in each communication, by emailing us at support@budgettracker.com, or by updating your preferences on the Profile Update page. We utilize an import contacts feature to help you keep track of your contacts. At your request we will search your email address book to help you import your contacts to our site. This is done manually by importing a .VCF file which can exported from Microsoft Outlook or Apple Contacts. Once imported, your contacts may be used as a view only tool so that you can see any of their information by logging into the BudgetTracker, Inc. site. We will not contact users in your contacts list at any time while in the Contacts application. When using the Invoices application, we will allow you to send an invitation to any of your existing contacts contacts by clicking the "Send Invitation" link after adding them to your Invoice. The email will explain that they can create a new account on the BudgetTracker, Inc. site so that you may provide access to your Invoice for viewing only.

Add Contact: We utilize an add contact feature which allows you to add your personal contacts. We collect their name, email address, address, mobile phone number and other information you may wish to keep track of. This information is not for our personal use, but to allow you to use this information while using our services.

We use other third parties such as Braintree, a credit card processing company, to bill you for services. When you make a payment, we will share your email address and payment information as necessary for the third party to provide that service.
These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for promotional purposes.

If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may update it by making the change on our Profile Update page or by emailing our Customer Support at support@budgettracker.com

BudgetTracker, Inc. does not share, sell, rent or trade personal information with third parties for their promotional purposes.

For your protection, we only allow users to enter in the last 4 numbers of your account numbers. This ensures that your credit cards and checking accounts can not be tampered with in any way. We take the security of your financial data very seriously and believe the more places you store your credit account numbers, the higher security risk you run into. This is why we prefer to be an organizer of your data, but not the key holder to your bank or financial institution.

All data is stored securely in a private datasource at Railway.com. All passwords are stored in encrypted format. All sensitive data is stored encrypted at rest. BudgetTracker, Inc. uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption to ensure all data transferred between your browser and the internet is encrypted.

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We may use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For session ID cookies, once you close your browser or log out, the cookie terminates and is erased. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on your computer's hard drive for an extended period of time. Your browser's help file contains information and instructions for removing persistent cookies. Session ID cookies may be used by BudgetTracker, Inc. to track user preferences while the user is visiting the website. They also help to minimize load times and save on server processing. Persistent cookies may be used by BudgetTracker, Inc. to store whether, for example, you want your password remembered or not, and other information.

We use Google Analytics to help understand how our users interact with the site. Google Analytics may use cookies to provide insight into different areas of the site our users use most and to help track what pages users are clicking on so that we may analyze the data to provide a better user experience. BudgetTracker, Inc. will use commercially reasonable efforts to preserve all data provided but BudgetTracker, Inc. will not be responsible for lost or purged data. Under no circumstances will BudgetTracker, Inc. be responsible for the expense of lost data or consequential damages, whether foreseeable damages or not, due to data loss.

If your account has been inactive for two (2) or more years, your data will be moved to an archived database. Your data is not deleted and can be recovered upon request. If you wish to recover your archived data, please contact us at support@budgettracker.com and we will restore your account and all associated data.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the home page, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
