We've updated the Message Board to now show the most recent posts on the main page. We've also updated the sub-pages to now be ordered by most recent post.
The Setup Wizard has been modified to be more user friendly for new and existing users. This gives users a more detailed walk thru when setting up your BudgetTracker account. When in setup mode, the top, left, and right panels are removed so that new users do not get confused by surrounded links and can concentrate mainly on learning how the site works and getting started. Additionally, the name has been changed from Budgeting Wizard to Setup Wizard and can be accessed from the Finance drop down.
We have updated the Bills and Income section to now allow you to create a Budget item automatically when a new Bill or Income item is created. By default, your category will be set to "Add to Budget". If a budget item has already been created, you can select it from the category list. Alternatively, you can choose not to add your Bill to your Budget by selecting "No Category".
We've added a new section to our Message Board called "Coming in Next Release". This will give you information on what is currently being added to the site and should expect it to be completed soon. This is different from the Coming Soon section in that the Coming Soon section is used for project we plan on implementing in the future but have no solid time frame of when it will be completed.
We've launched a new feature to the site call My Search Engine. This is a combination of Notes and URL's which can easily be browsed through your own search engine. You no longer need to worry about cluttering up your bookmarks. Save any page that you may or may not want to come back and visit later. You can then come to the Search Engine section of our site to Search by keyword or date for your links. You also have the ability to lock your URL's or share them with the public so people can see the most popular links being saved.
In addition to saving links, we've implemented an easy way to enter in notes. In the Search Engine box, enter n:{note} and you're note will automatically get saved. Your notes are also searchable by keyword or date.
We plan on adding several features to this page such as Calendar entries, Tasks, and much more. We will be opening a separate message board for your ideas on how we can improve on this new product.
To access, "My Search Engine", click the "Organization" link from the Navigation Menu.
We've moved the monthly dropdown above each page that uses this instead of in the right navigation. This was causing some confusion of not knowing which month you are currently viewing.
We've introduced a new page called "Bill Information". This will allow you to view your Bill phone numbers and account numbers from one screen to make it easy to find when you have to contact a Bill provider. You can access this page by going to "My Bills" and you will now see a link at the top of your Bills titled "Bill Information". A new account number field has been added to creating and updating a Bill.
As BudgetTracker has grown and new products have been added, so has the Navigation Menu. With all the services we offer, this has grown beyond the viewable screen making it difficult to tell where to find things on the site. To resolve this issue, we've organized our applications into 4 categories (Finance, Organization, Other, and Reports). This will make it easier for new and existing users to find your way around BudgetTracker. All existing links have been moved into one of these categories. If you find a link missing or one you would like added, please feel free to leave feedback on the Message Board or email us at service@budgettracker.com
We've included a dynamic calculator on each page on the left side of the page under the navigation. This will allow you calculate your budget and bills easier from any page without having to open the Windows Calculator application.
