That's correct. There's an option to specify how months it should change or you can select unlimited.

if I am understanding this right, using the "override" will change the budget amount going forward, not just for one month, and also not mess up the previous year's records or whatever? cause I was coming over here to find out how to do that. we need to change some of our category amounts for this year, but didn't want to mess up last year's records.

Your budget is continuous so it will also be applied to 2011. If you would like to change an amount in 2011, choose update and then override amount. You can then set a new amount to start on 1/1/11

I have created my 2010 Budget. Can I create a 2011 Budget at a later date, prior to Jan. 2011?
