You should see a link titled "mark paid" next to the partially paid link. This will let us know you meant to pay that amount as the total.

I have this problem - but instead my bill fluctuates and I end up with a LOT of partially paid bills -not functional this way - should be an option.

Yes, instead of clicking the checkbox and then hitting the record bill button, click on the "record" link next to the bill you want to pay. This will allow you to adjust the amount and other aspects of the transaction being created.

But it would record the bill with the estimated amount. Is there any way to record the bill with the actual amount and still make a partial payment?

When you setup your Bills, you enter the average amount of that bill to be paid when due. Whenever you pay only a portion of that amount, you'll notice the text will automatically say "Partially Paid". Clicking on that link will allow you to then pay the rest of the payment when the payment is due.

I would like to be able to enter my phone bills as they arrive, and record the payments on the date they are paid. Sometimes a bill is not paid in full but a partial payment is made. I can't seem to figure out how to do this although there seem to be questions in the help that indicate it is possible. This bill is also a split bill.
