Since it's not going into your bank account, you'll want to create a deposit transaction to your default Cash account to track it. Then once you deposit it into your bank you can create a transfer from your Cash Account to your Savings/Checking Account.

How do I add deposits from someone else into my account? It's not a transaction because it doesn't come from my source of money. It's not income (i.e. pay check) either. It is most often people repaying money I've let them borrow.
