Similar to when you open a new checking account at the bank, you'll see a transaction in your registry as the opening balance deposit. When a new account is created, we generate a transaction as your opening balance and date it in the past as January 1rst. You can then update the date of this transaction as needed. We may add a date field to the My Accounts page so that you can set this when it's created.

I notice a looks like automatically created transaction described as 'Opening Balance'. What is its nature? Is it mandatory? Can it be deleted?
