It should be picking up the amount of the transaction and then showing up as partially paid if it's less than the bill amount. Are you clicking on "record" from the My Bills page, then "Pay with existing transaction" from the transaction page?

not sure if this is the same thing, but when I record a bill payment from a current transaction it does the same thing - resorts to the budgeted amount instead of picking up the actual amount of the transaction. doesn't really make sense, it would be great if it was the right amount.

Recording Bill with Overridden amount
When you go to record a bill that has a overridden amount, it defaults to the Bill's regular scheduled amount, instead of the overridden amount. It would be nice if when you hit record, it picked up the new amount.
