From the My Budget page, click on "update" next to the category you wish to delete. Then click the "delete" link. Alternatively, you can click on My Categories and delete it from there as well.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, deleting the category did delete your transactions as well. We will be implementing code to move the deleted transactions to the deleted folder instead for 30 days to avoid this in the future. We will look into recovering your deleted transactions but this may not be available for more than a week if recoverable.

Deleting Categories
I just accidentally deleted a large category with several sub-categories. I was attempting to just delete a single sub-category by selecting it and clicking delete in the upper right corner. I did not notice until after that there is a delete sub-category button at the bottom of the page. There was a confirmation message, but the content did not register when I clicked OK. Needless to say, I deleted many many transactions now. Is there any way to get those back? I fear not and now I have to re-enter an unknown amount of transactions. I think it should be much more difficult to do what I just did even if I was the one making the mistake. Thanks.
