Re:Transfer option is not available with imported transactions
You now have the ability to update an existing transaction and change it to a transfer transaction. Please see site updates for more information.

Re:Transfer option is not available with imported transactions
Thank you for your prompt reply! I'm quite impressed with Budget Tracker and its many features. I fumbled through Quicken's budget feature and never quite understood the benefit or usefulness of that application. I'm currently using your excellent application as well as evaluating You Need A Budget (YNAB) software (Excel spreadsheet). I really enjoy the user interface and the feature-rich components of Budget Tracker. It is quite eye-opening to have all the numbers (debts, accounts, savings, etc.) readily in front of you.
I just completed Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover and I was looking for an alternative to the Gazelle budgeting software included with the website membership and I wasn't quite sure I wanted to experiment with Mvelopes since it would access my accounts. I feel I made a wise choice in choosing your application!
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Merry Christmas!

Re:Transfer option is not available with imported transactions
Thank you for the feedback. If you are importing a .QIF file, you should see an option to import any transaction as a transfer on the far right side of each transaction by clicking the checkbox. Otherwise, the Transfer option will only appear on new transactions not updates. When you record a transfer, the BudgetTracker system will create 2 transactions for you (one negative and one positive) into the accounts you've chosen. Once completed, these are entirely independent of each other. We'll look into tracking these 2 as tied transactions so updating one will automatically update the other amount. We can then add the option of being able to update a transaction to be converted to a transfer which will then create an additional transaction in your registry. For now, if you have a transaction recorded as a withdrawal, you can just create a new deposit transaction into the account you want it transferred to. We'll post a message once this feature has been implemented.

Transfer option is not available with imported transactions
Greetings: Per the "My Transactions" help under the "Type" category it states that "Selecting Withdrawal or Deposit will enter either a positive or negative amount. If Transfer is selected, you will be taken to a page where you can transfer funds from one account to another." The Transfer option doesn't appear . . . does this function not work or did I do something incorrectly? I imported my QIF file and accepted all the transactions. At what point should I be able to change the transaction to a transfer?
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your reply.
