Thank you for your patience in this issue. This should now be resolved and your categories should be appearing. This was isolated to an issue with drop-down categories on the My Transactions page.

After looking into this further, what was happening is that imported transactions were being auto approved instead of turning yellow with an accept link which would make it appear as if your existing transactions were being effected. Please try it now and you should see the accept/deny links appear next to transactions that have been imported. As far as categories not showing up for transactions more than a year old, we are looking into this as this sound like possibly an issue unrelated to importing transactions.

Unfortunately, a rollback feature is not available for an individual account due to the extensive amount of changes each user makes. The closest thing we have in place is the ability to undelete transactions you've deleted in the past 30 days. What we're looking for in the QIF file is the ability to reproduce what you are seeing to help find what the causing issue is.

Are you able to revert a client's account to a past date prior to when the "bug" occurred (similar to the Time Machine feature in Mac OS X that allows you to return your machine/data to how it was on that particular date)? What exactly would you look for in a .QIF file if I was to send it to you?

We've been unable to reproduce this error so far. Please send us a sample of the data you are trying to import (QIF) so we can investigate this further. The email to attach it to is service@budgettracker.com

I'm also having the same issue. All the transactions going back more than 1 year are not showing a category on the Transaction page. It seems like they show up on the My Budget page correctly.
I also can't import any transactions past 2/11/09.
Please fix this ASAP.

Thank you for the post. Are you trying to import a .CSV file or .QIF? We are currently looking into this issue and trying to reproduce the behavior you are seeing. As far as saving a local copy, under Reports & Graphs, you should see a Download Data link. On this page you can click on the transactions link to save your transactions to a .CSV file. You can then import that file back into the system at a later time if you have any problems.
